There are few things that comfort and fufill me like the ocean. The sound of the waves- the vastness- it both soothes and astonishes me.
Perhaps it is the saltiness: of the air, of the water- a reminder of our own vastness.

This sentiment is captured in sterling silver in a piece that has been “double etched”, meaning I etch each side of the sterling silver petals separately. The petals are then meticulously hand cut, making sure the words line up on both sides before I dap them to a gentle curve, and position them around a hand built kinetic centerpiece in 14k gold. At the center sits a 6mm rusty red rose-cut diamond surrounded in a 22k gold bezel.
I took photos of the diamond under several light sources to try to capture the deep, warm color of the stone surrounded in gold. It's a truly gorgeous color.
Suspended from a substantial yet delicate 22" sterling silver chain, this piece is finished with a handmade hook clasp. The author's name is etched on the rose leaf, alongside my elm logo.
