Rachel is a good friend of mine as well as a talented graphic designer who designed my logo and packaging materials!
She was interested in having a envelope locket. She'd found some vintage pieces, but they weren't quite as special or unique as she would have liked, so she turned to me.
Using an antique French souvenir envelope as an inspiration, I created paper templates, and then a prototype in copper. I showed her images as I went along, getting her input on the detail and designs on the envelope.
She wanted to keep it very simple, with a hint of the striped lines on an air-mail envelope.
This is the resulting double hinged envelope. Inside is tucked a little love note from her husband ("love you more!") and a miniature polaroid from their wedding.
