This is my final project for a workshop I participated in this summer called Heart of the Maker. It was all about cultivating your personal creative process, working from inspiration to design to creation. It was intense, but so worth it! In fact, this is my second time working through it. This is what I made last year:

I took a photo of a one quart milk bottle that I found in our farm dump (we live in a 200 year old farmhouse) and etched it. Then I cut out the inside to show off the "roots" of a dendritic agate, with some wildflowers coming out of the top! I wanted to capture the beauty of simplicity: How something as basic as an old jar filled with wildflowers can bring such joy and beauty to a space.

My second project was a riff on that, with a mason jar filled with wild flowers.

I revisited these concepts for the "Vases Loaded" collection, with more etched vessels containing wildflowers! I'm really proud of these pieces, and will continue to expand on this idea.
