Talko Talks!
I’m sitting in my studio, belly rumbling because I thought my 10 am egg sandwich would carry me over until 6 pm. I am hungry, which is, perhaps, why I’ve got tacos on my mind.
Or talkos.
What are talkos, you might ask?
Talko’s are me, uncomfortably talking straight to camera, giving you a little glimpse into the work I’m creating and why. I’ve had two mentors in my life recently challenge me to be more visible, more vulnerable and more engaged.
So, each Tuesday and Thursday, I’m going to post a short video on Instagram. I’ll be coming at you real, messy, and mostly unfiltered. (Even if you’re not on the ‘gram, you should be able to see this post on your computer via this link, or by typing www.instagram.com/elmharris into your browser.)
In this increasingly digital, detached and divided world we’re living in, this artist’s heart longs to make work that connects with people deeply, that provides a modicum of hope, courage, inspiration and beauty.
And while watching me uncomfortably talk into my phone isn’t exactly like sitting down for a coffee and a conversation, I’m hoping by modeling my own vulnerabilty and discomfort by not hiding so much of myself, I can inspire you to the same, in whatever area in your life that would make the biggest difference.
It’s my way of sharing a little more of myself and insight into the pieces I’m making…which I’m making with YOU in mind.
I don’t know if you know this but…I make this jewelry for you.
Yes. You.
You with the wild, imaginative heart. You with big emotions that can be so difficult to express or contain. You, with your sense of humor, you love of the outdoors, fascination with bugs and blooms and butterflies. You, who seeks out truth, beauty and meaningful jewelry that goes deeper than surface appearance.
You’re the realest and the coolest and on my mind every time I sit at the bench.
If you’d like to watch me squirm in front of the camera, you can check that out HERE and HERE.
But that’s not all! Please take a moment to check out the website, I’ve made some changes and am slowly repopulating it with new work.
It will take me several weeks to photograph and list everything, and rather than the pressure of having a “shop update” (I have a hard time waiting!) I’m going to trickle things out a little at a time, so check back frequently if you’ve been patiently waiting for me to have some new work up there already!
Click the button and tell me what you think of the new site (and if you find any broken links!)

Thanks so much for your time, reading this, reaching out and replying! It’s so appreciated ❤️
