The Luna Moth - such an ephemeral beauty. One of the largest, glorious and most recognized moths in North America- yet it lives only about a week in its winged form.  While they aren't rare, it is rare to see one, due to their nocturnal tendencies and short life spans.  But there is a magic to them.

This little pendant is etched with the pattern of a luna moth.  The back of the pendant reads a line from the Mary Oliver poem The Summer Day.

"Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?  Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"

I can't think of a better creature to represent the fragility and impermanence of our time on this planet.  This little beauty is a reminder that life is short. Live it well.

Tiny etched luna moth on an oxidized and beaded 18" sterling silver chain with handmade clasp. There are two sizes, the larger being about 1.375" wide and 1.5" long including the bail.  The smaller is approximately 1.06" wide and 1.25" long
