I love a challenge, and making hinges on this scale is just that- challenging! But so much fun and the result is this darling little pendant!
I am a sucker for eyespots, and the Emperor moth doesn't disappoint! I also find it so cool that the male and female of the species are different colors! The males are orangey-brown, with feathery antennae, while the females are larger and a silvery grey and white.
I've also made a dollhouse scale (1:12th) Emperor moth specimen that you can add on if you just like small things, or have a dollhouse, or both!
You can also choose to add the bell-jar display cloche
This truly tiny etched emperor moth (saturnia pavonia) butterfly is less than 1" long with a wing span less than 1" wide. Available with etched brass or silver wings. It comes on an oxidized and beaded sterling chain with handmade clasp. (*Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to select a 16 or 18" chain)
