Ann Patchet is one of my favorite authors, and her book "Tom Lake" prompted me to start making book pendants.
Around the holidays, I turned to Ann again to find a sweet quote about mothers, to make a book pendant for my mom. I came across a quote from her 2007 novel "Run" that hit me as the perfect sentiment for the feeling of comfort my mom gives me:
"Home. Bed. Sleep. Mother. Who knew more beautiful words than these?"
I read Run back when it first came out, but I have the rather unfortunate (or perhaps fortunate for those who like to re-read novels) tendancy to not remember things I've read, so I don't recall the context of this particular quote. But to me, it's all about things that provide such sources of protection and comfort.
