I've always delighted in butterflies, but my butterfly obsession started in earnest the summer of 2018, when I raised my first 5 monarchs. Starting from a teeny tiny caterpillar, feeding on milkweed until they formed a jade green chrysalis, and then the incredible process of metamorphosing into a vibrant orange butterfly! The process is an absolute joy to witness and be a part of, and has influenced my work ever since.
A sterling silver pendant, etched with a Monarch butterfly pattern on it's wings.
The body of the monarch is an amber intaglio as orange as my beloved Monarchs! It has been reverse carved with dainty flowers.
The wings are hinged on the back of the stone, giving the butterfly subtle movement on the neck.
A handmade hook and eye clasp on a round cable chain completes this necklace!
Wingspan is approximately 2.5" wide with a 17" overall necklace length.
