What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us. And when we bring what is within us out into the world, miracles happen". R.W. Emerson
I’m revisiting a series of lockets I did back in 2017 for a workshop I’m teaching in Tucson in 2020. They were inspired by memories of my grandmother sitting at her vanity. I remember peeking into her bedroom as a child, seeing her face framed in the twinkling lights of the mirror. She always invited me in, and I’d look at all her brushes and compacts and bottles in awe, thinking she was the most glamorous woman, (even without a hint of makeup)
These lockets make me think of that twinkly mirror, and the beauty framed within.
Sterling silver and quartz crystal. Room inside for a photo, a scrap of fabric, or even some dried petals. On an 18" sterling chain.
